Introduction. Frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA) is known as a lymphocytic primary cicatricial alopecia. The main characteristic of FFA progressive frontotemporal hairline recession. pathogenesis not completely understood. Destructing the stem cells epithelial hair follicles causes permanent loss and seems to be cause FFA. Studies have reported significantly decreased quality life in patients with loss. On other hand, late diagnosis treatment can decrease success rate treatment. In this regard, different topical systemic therapies been developed resolve symptoms; however, only partial response usually achieved. We conducted systematic review literature identify effectiveness available modalities used for related outcomes. Methods. April 2022, we made wide computer-assisted search PubMed Google Scholar databases, using “frontal alopecia” “treatment” keywords. scanned 1,514 articles. All studies concerning therapeutic regimen were included. After removing duplicate studies, 50 containing 1,478 included review. Results. 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors (oral finasteride/dutasteride) most medications (usually prescribed combination therapy medications). Topical corticosteroids second commonly medication Systemic seem ineffective improving progression. Oral isotretinoin (or alitretinoin) had promising effect on facial papules 92% papule improvement. Conclusion. our review, intralesional corticosteroid injection (finasteride/dutasteride) effective modalities. considered context However, it minimal effects regrowth or stabilization recession patients.
